Nevada GOP drops traditional marriage from party platform

At the 2014 Nevada State Republican Convention, the plank of traditional marriage was dropped from the party platform. Leading up to the Convention, Clark and Elko Counties had dropped social issues from their party platforms.

We would like to thank Platform Committee Chair Tom Dickman of Washoe County and our fellow Delegates (each County had 2 Delegates on the Committee) for helping keep the party focused on core issues of smaller government and personal freedom.

The state party has made it clear that they want a “bigger tent” and has welcomed us into it.┬áThis positions the Log Cabin Republicans of Nevada and our allies to be even more effective in demonstrating that the Republican Party is the party of limited government, personal responsibility and individual liberty!
